BMW BluePerformance with AdBlue®.
Thanks to BMW BluePerformance Technology, the emission characteristics of the diesel engine have been optimised once more and the number of nitrogen oxides contained in the exhaust gas further reduced. In some diesel models an additional form of nitrogen degradation is used: the SCR catalytic converter with AdBlue® injection (SCR = Selective Catalytic Reduction). Injection of the AdBlue® solution triggers a chemical reaction that additionally reduces the nitrogen oxide emissions. As a result, the diesel models fulfil the EU6 exhaust emissions standard.
